The 2026 Hoyt Lakes Homeschool Wildfire Education Event brought together homeschool students and families for a hands-on learning experience focused on wildfire preparedness, fire ecology, and community safety. Participants rotated through interactive stations exploring emergency go kits, evacuation planning, Firewise best practices, and wildland firefighting, led by natural resource and emergency preparedness professionals. Through both indoor and outdoor activities, students gained practical knowledge about living with wildfire and the important role fire plays in healthy forest ecosystems.
